Hamburg Soup

Ingredients

Ground beef, tomato, broth, barley, vegetables

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion - chopped fine
  • 1 - 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 cans beef broth
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 4 carrots - chopped finely
  • 3 sticks celery - chopped finely
  • 1/2 cup barley
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • basil and parsley flakes

Directions

Brown meat and onions ... drain well

Combine all other ingredients in large pot - add meat mixture

Simmer, covered, at least 2 hours

Serves at least 10

Freezes well!!
